He called for a “historic peace agreement” with Saudi Arabia, building upon the path laid by the Abraham Accords: “To truly realise the blessing of a new Middle East, we must continue the path we paved with the Abraham Accords… Above all, this means achieving a historic peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia”.
Netanyahu also addressed anti-Semitism at the UN and how Israel could not work with ‘peace partners’ who want to see the destruction of the world’s only Jewish State. He responded to the current threat posed by Hezbollah, calling it “a quintessential terror organisation” with tentacles that “span in all continents”. He reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to dismantling the group’s capabilities, vowing to “degrade” Hezbollah until all objectives are met.
This speech has been described as one of the most powerful ever delivered at the United Nations, fulfilling the prophetic declaration that Netanyahu’s voice would “roar in the United Nations”. Sadly many delegates left the building in protest during his speech but nearly one year on from the 7th October terror attacks, Israel continues to stand strong.
