Dr Michael Brown wants to encourage believers to keep revival going by highlighting the next practical steps that should happen after the waves of emotional outpouring. This includes discipleship, preaching the Gospel and producing the fruit of the Spirit in new believers.
He is providing wisdom and insight for readers on how to sustain revival in our communities and nation even after the emotions that accompany revival subside. In his latest book, ‘Seize The Moment’ Dr Michael Brown provides 25 ways that Christians can biblically keep revival alive and led by the Holy Spirit. For him, one of the biggest elements of keeping revival alive and purposeful means sharing the gospel throughout all creation.
“There are many things that will mess up a move of God, but few are as fatal as neglecting the lost,” Dr Brown writes. “How dare we receive a fresh outpouring of the Spirit and keep it to ourselves. How dare we ‘saturate’ and ‘soak’ ourselves in the living waters of God while forgetting about the famished, drought-stricken sinners who are dying outside of our doors for the lack of the smallest drink.”
“When the shouting dies down, when the shaking and falling cease, when the particular wave of revival comes to an end, there is one primary thing that will demonstrate the revival’s fruit: new believers, either as direct converts of the revival or as a result of other believers coming alive and reaching out in power,” he writes.
Dr Michael Brown believes that it is by the Holy Spirit’s power and conviction to burden God’s people to care for the lost that will breed true revival where miracles, signs and wonders will abound in all earnestness.
“A revived church will be a church that makes a lasting impact, and there is no more lasting impact than the impact of radical, glorious, history-changing conversions,” he writes. “Social change without gospel transformation will not last.”
