“Keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience…” ~ 1 Timothy 3:9 NIV
Through the clear running stream the water gushed over the rocks, dropped into pools and the fishes thrived in it. We could stand on the side and look deep into the deeper parts of the stream. If you take a stone and throw it in only ripples would be formed. Even the bubbles looked transparent. Such a stream is a delight to us.
However if we take a stick and dig it deep to the bottom of the stream and disturb the mud beneath, suddenly a cloud of mud will fill the water and will make it difficult to see through the water.
When we have a clear conscience our mind too resembles the clear waters of the spring. We feel fresh and filled with life. Our mind is ready to focus on anything, our energy levels are high. The moment something comes and clouds our mind with negative thoughts, unpleasant memories or unmet desires, we can lose our enthusiasm easily. If this goes on too long we lose the will to live too.
“Lord, you have examined me and know all about me. You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them.” Psalm 139:1-2 NCV
“I the Lord search the mind, I try the heart, even to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10 Amplified Bible
We have a choice to live our lives according to godly principles and surrender everything concerning our past, present and future into the Lord’s hands. We can meditate on God’s Word and His truth and just surrender our earthly baggage into His hands. He is merciful to forgive us. We can trust Him to purge and remove every guilt and unnecessary thought so we can be free to live a good life.
Prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I am sorry I grieved your heart. I surrender, please help me to keep my mind and conscience clear. Help me to meditate on Your words and live a fruitful life, Amen.”
